What is Purified Water

In layman’s terms, purified water is water from any source that is processed to remove all impurities. Most commonly used in science and critical cleaning industries, and blue chip organisations, it is the purest form of water available.

Deionized water is one of the most common forms of purified water. This involves removing completely the mineral ions from the water, such as cations from sodium, calcium, iron and copper, and anions such as chloride and bromide. Deionization uses a special technology called ion exchange resins which bind to and filter out mineral salts from the water. As a result, high purity water is produced, not too dissimilar to distilled water. The deionization process also helps to avoid scale build up and is quick.
