Keep them away from heat. The more heat, chemicals and sterilizing gases you use on your appliances, the shorter their life span. First, carefully disassemble and pre-wash the appliances. This causes any residue left on them to be removed. Ideally, they should be disassembled, washed, dried, and then re-assembled without using any (or many) tools, to preserve the coating of the appliances. Strict attention must be paid to the temperature they are cleaned at, especially plastic appliances. Ideally, do not use temperatures exceeding 45°C or 113°F on plastic products.
